This whole speed dating thing is kind of wild, huh? Have a short conversation with someone, drop a bomb here and there just for fun, good times. It’s the sort of situation Ceri thrives in, even if she does her best to act sweet and nice most of the time – especially with those she has never met before.

eyes brighten when he sees someone he knows. his pace quickens, answering the question before even taking his seat.

"i think they're all neat!" priam says with an emphasis on the 'neat' like it's the most important part of the sentence. "they're fancy, but you won the fanciest partner award between us."

he sits down in a hurry as well, especially since there's no need to act all proper-- though it's not like he'd been following it the entire night.

"since we're here, ceri, it's time to answer the question."

priam interrupts himself with a bite of cookie from the table. he had not tasted it ever since the speed dates happened. the chew only took a moment, but it felt much longer given the time constraints.

"have you got the hots for me before? come on, you can be honest!"

he puffs his chest out, feeling proud and accomplished. the sense of victory is held throughout the conversation as he eases back to continue their talk.

"of course!" priam confidently answers without a shred of shame in his words. "don't make me list all of the reasons! we only have just enough time!"

he winks with a smile, and then sighs.

"too bad it's usually a bad thing to get involved with colleagues."

rocket stuff is sensitive. ceri probably knows that getting attached while within the organization was often bad news. then again, priam's still adjusting to a more free situation than what he was experiencing before.

the topic change was as quick as priam's shift in mood though.

"oh yeah, did you get numbers of cute guys and girls? i've been forgetting to do those!"

She smiles when he confirms her suspicions, in the way anyone would when being told someone they’re fond of thinks they’re attractive. But, while it sure is a boost to her ego, in the end, that’s all it can be. They’re both Team Rocket members and work together at the lab, it would be stupid to get involved with him – Ceri isn’t here to play stupid games and win stupid prizes for them.

priam already has a list of generic compliments that he gives out to people, but those he personally knows get a more specialized version. on one hand, he feels proud of himself for being able to be capable of doing that, but on the other, making up the list was always a grim reminder that getting close to people was a detriment.

"oh shit, an ex? wish i was there to see it all! must've been awkward, huh?"

there's a smirk, indicating humor.

"can't say i feel you though since," he leans forward to whisper, "believe it or not, i haven't been in a relationship before."

he breaks away, smiles back to their original state. "shocking, i know! don't tell anyone though, else they'll be all over me. i'm, like, prime commodity 'round these parts."

they'll be the first targets for rocket for blackmail, as he had found out from other people during his days of kanto, as well as blackwell's rule on hoenn. conditioning goes way back, but it doesn't stop priam from being flirty for fun.

whether ceri has been in the organization for long or not was forgotten. he makes an assumption that she isn't with his choice of words.

"you too! get that bread!"

in that moment, priam takes a piece of cupcake on the way to his next date.
